PARABEN FREE personal care products are popping up – WHY?
Look no further than your deodorant, antiperspirant, shampoo, cosmetics, shaving cream,
facial shower cleansers/ scrubs ,and lotion…. 1 or more may contain PARABENS.
Even medications are popping up with PARABENS.
We have touched on this topic before about toxic deodorant, but this article will be to
speak about the specifics in the majority of personal hygiene products that may not be so
good for our overall MELANIN & health.
The American Chemical Society estimates that Parabens are in about 85% of personal care
products. 99% of cancer patients have Parabens in their bodies.
What are PARABENS?
Parabens are basically chemical preservatives placed in products to keep yeast, mold, and
bacteria from growing in them. Think of PARABENS as a pesticide for your
deodorant, antiperspirant, shampoo, cosmetics, facial shower cleansers/ scrubs ,and lotion.
News of this shoul
d be more than enough to keep anyone from using these products- but how many of us are actually looking at the ingredients these types of products?
How are PARABENS absorbed?
Primarily through the skin and gastrointestinal tract. Yes, some foods contain PARABENS as well.
The PROBLEM WITH PARABENS
PARABENS mimic estrogen hormones (even in small doses). Estrogen that is influx or
dysfunctional receptors create an environment conducive for cancer growth and a host of
hormonal problems. PARABENS create the dysfunction of estrogen/ hormonal receptors.
Women: Breast, Skin, and Fibroids are all a result of increased or dysfunctional
estrogen levels.
Men: increased risk of prostate cancer, and low libido are a result of increased or
dysfunctional estrogen in men.
So we can basically say PARABENS are chemical hormone destroyers. SOY laden food does the exact same. See our article on that as well. We have also noticed SOY in some hair
products as well.
How to avoid PARABENS??
THE KEY IS IN THE INGREDIENTS. Products with Parabens have these commonly ingredients: butylparaben, methylparaben, ethylparaben, and propylparaben — they can also be listed as Alkyl parahydroxy benzoates. A full list of these chemicals will be posted soon. Rule of thumb is if you cant clearly pronounce it so someone else- its probably bad for your body.
If your not looking at what is in the products that you buy.. you may very well be
covering your body with these chemicals. Recent research is revealing that there is a
possible correlation between PARABENS and Cancer rates.
What ACTION can you take?
Take action on your health and your MELANIN, by reading labels of products and avoid the cancer causing PARABEN kind. Also increase your water and fresh food intake. Also Vitamin (Hormone D) levels assist in lowering dysfunctional estrogen and increasing MELANIN production and free radical scavenging in the body.
PROTECT YOUR MELANIN at all TIMES!!
