In commerical products the ingredients on the back of products are listed in order of their quantity within the product. Lets go over some of the major ingredients in Ultra Sheen.
Ingredients: Petrolatum, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum/Huile Minerale), Lanolin (Lanoline), Ceresin, Benzyl Benzoate, Fragrance (Parfum), Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, D&C Green 6 (CI 61565), Tocopherol, BHT
Petrolatum aka Petroleum Jelly : A bi-product from refining crude oil. Often markets as a health beneficial product, but its not. Petrolatums contain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons which are linked to several cancers (including breast cancer & skin) lung, bladder, liver and certain digestive system cancers.
Lanolin: A moisturizer also known as wool grease or wool alcohol is poisonous when ingested. As we know skin is another slower way of ingesting ingredients into the body. Skin reactions can develop,
may also create a difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Rashes and dizziness can occur. Some sheep have also been exposed to pesticide filled meadows and which increased the pesticide exposure in lanolin.
Ceresin: Fancy word for manufactured petroleum wax. This man made wax derived from ozocerite. Ozocerite comes from coal and shale. Its used to hold the ingredients in a product together. Can also be used in candle wax. Wax on the body prevents breath-ability and clogs the pours of the scalp that can also destroy the natural transfer of moisture and function of African air. Complications are unknown as there have been no medical studies on this product…yet it is communicated to be safe and is also found in many cosmetic products.
Benzyl Benzoate: A medication used as an insect repellent to treat scabies and lice.
Also activates estrogen stimulation in the body. Hormonal alterations and inducing of estrogen production and stimulation can additional probability of developing cancer, and fibroids. Milder side effects include blistering, burning of the skin, jerking movements, loss of consciousness, damage to liver and kidneys.
We could go on into the ingredients but you can clearly see the most prominent and primary ingredients can be highly harmful to your health. It’s recommended that users of these types of products begin to use natural products on their hair -and put this and other products down that contain large quantities of these chemicals. Build up your ACTIVEMELANIN, versus destroying it. You have children using these products and family members. Inform them to stop using these types of products. Use other natural and safer alternatives (they are out there)!
